Richard Sanders

Hi, I'm Richard Sanders. I live in Rugby with my very talented artist wife, Penny, my two children and our Border Terrier.

Amongst other things in my past, I have been responsible for the safe navigation of a super-tanker; I have successfully earned a living selling peanuts to tourists on Carnac Plage in Brittany, and I have managed a café in one of the poorer areas of Bradford with staff who were all previously long-term unemployed.

For the last 30 years, since I graduated from York University, I have worked in Human Resources. I worked firstly for two large multinational companies employing thousands of people. This gave me great training and experience of HR best practice. I wanted, however, to have more of a strategic influence on a business and I joined a manufacturing SME, offering world class levels of service and technology in a highly competitive market.

I spent 17 years as a Director on the Board. I was involved in all areas of the business and I have successfully developed strategy and implemented several major change programmes. My experience has given me a deep knowledge and understanding of the joys and frustrations of running a business.

I am a qualified, experienced coach. Coaching is a proven, highly effective approach to personal development. I use coaching to get to the heart of the matter, uncovering what is really holding people back; helping people in business to perform better and achieve more.

I love business first and foremost, and my main aim has been to play my part in making companies successful.
